What does Parenting From The Floor mean?
Parenting From The Floor is about being present and at a child’s level. This act naturally helps us ground ourselves and focus on one precise task: gaining clarity in who they are and what they need.
That’s why Parenting From The Floor exists. Like any challenging skill, seeing things as kids do gets easier with the right knowledge and regular practice. And as you’ll see, the payoff that comes with being on their level is simply stunning.
Behavior is communication
When we see frustrating behaviors in kids, we immediately see a problem to be solved. But really, those behaviors are how kids tell us, “I need something, but I don’t know what it is.”
It’s my job to act as translator, helping you to understand this new language and, ultimately, gain fluency.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a decade of experience working as a mental health therapist with children, adolescents, and their families.
During those years, I cultivated a passion for gathering all the information I could about a given person and situation, then drawing on my experience to develop rapid, effective, and satisfying next steps.
What to expect in your sessions
Our parenting consultations are tailored to meet the needs of your family in your current set of circumstances. In session, you can expect a discussion of what you are experiencing and the goals that you have, assistance in understanding the why behind the behaviors, and a creation of connection-driven strategies to help bring peace back into your home.
You will also receive a session summary that details the main points that were covered, along with recommendations and resources. This will help you put discussion topics into practice between sessions. Over time, these summaries serve as your individualized parenting book!
